On 19 May 2022 Dewald was involved in a fatal motorbike accident at the tender age of 23. He left a huge hole in so many people’s hearts. His infectious laughter and positive attitude is sorely missed.

The family decided that we could not let his legacy slip away into obscurity. We wanted to do something that matched his impact that he had on people.

Dewald had a love and patience for children. We combined this with his love for white shoes (he believed everyone should be wearing white shoes) and thus, Dewald’s White Shoes Foundation was born.

Our aim is to identify underprivileged children that are in dire need of the basic right of shoes to play in.

Whether it is for athletics, rugby, netball or just a tekkie to play outside with, Dewald’s White Shoes Foundation wants to assist them.

We are a Non Profit Organization and purely rely on donations. All staff are volunteers and all proceeds go straight into helping children. We will appreciate any support.
